Home > Conference > OUM President/Vice-Chancellor Welcome Message
On behalf of the Organising Committee, I am pleased to welcome all delegates to Kuala Lumpur for the 8th Pan-Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning (PCF8) that will take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 27 November to 30 November 2016.
This important forum of the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) is co-hosted each time with partners in different regions of the Commonwealth. The conference aims to explore applications of open and distance learning (ODL) in widening educational access, bridging the digital divide and advancing the social and economic development of communities and nations.
Open University Malaysia (OUM) is co-hosting PCF8, which will bring together participants from all over the Commonwealth and non-Commonwealth countries to discuss issues of common interest that affect our respective communities, particularly those pertaining to quality education and training.
The issues to be discussed include quality and equity in learning, access to educational opportunities and inclusion, efficiency and effectiveness of ODL in achieving positive learning outcomes, and technology and innovation in teaching and learning.
My gratitude and appreciation to COL for the valuable support and guidance in ensuring the successful management of PCF8.
Thank you.
Professor Dato' Dr Mansor Fadzil
